When I lived in Vegas, the Sultan of Brunei bought about 50 acres near my house and built a large complex for himself and his horses. There were two other large houses on the complex grounds, one for each of his (then 2) wives. I used to pick pomegranates off of one of his trees that overhung the wall. I always wanted to break in and check out the place, but the guards had scary automatic rifles on hand, so I never dared to be bold. Good memories.

Wow, Greg! I will be reading all your blogs. I wish I was with you...I would love to do something like that! It sounds, after just reading about your first venture, that you have overcome a lot of obstacles. This trip will really change your life.

Hope all is well!

Glad to hear you are still alive and have not found your way into any trouble besides perhaps the notorious night out that is Karaoke In Asia.

Of course we're still reading! You're only half-way done! :) Still hella jealous, although I'll be back out in foreignity soon as I'm (finally) moving the to UK in September!

Cheers bro, keep up the travelogue.

The pictures of Chengdu show a sunny day with blue skies! You were very lucky to have found such a day, as Chengdu usually is pretty gray.

My wife is from Chengdu, and I've been there twice. You always find something new there.

Thanks for the photos, it brings back memories!

It continues to impress me how far inland you have gone on this trip. I was sure that we were gnentically engineered to not venture more than 4 feet from the ocean.
